Library offers new "E-card" service

West Fargo Public Library

Residents of West Fargo and the West Fargo school district can now apply online for a West Fargo Public Library “E-card” – an online resource only library card. E-cards offer 24/7 access to the library’s digital material (eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, music, and more) from sites like OverDrive, Hoopla, and Freegal Music, as well as access to online resources like Mango Languages and Consumer Reports.

The library invites children, teens, and adults, who do not already have library cards from the West Fargo Public Library, to apply for E-cards. These new cards are especially beneficial for busy students or anyone who cannot easily get to the library. E-cardholders have access to many of the same resources as full-access library cardholders, including:

  • Digital Books & Media: Download or stream eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, music, & movies
  • Databases: Access online genealogy resources, consumer information, scholarly journals, & encyclopedias
  • Online Learning: Sign up for an online class, learn a new language, or get homework help from a live tutor
  • In-Library Computers: Use the public desktop computers in the library

Individuals interested in obtaining an E-card will visit the library's website to fill out an application. The E-card will then be mailed to the applicant. E-cardholders may upgrade to a full-access library card, allowing them to also check out items from the library’s physical collections, by visiting the library in person and presenting photo ID and proof of current address.
